Fund Management

FOR ENDOWMENTS

Designed to keep the principal amount intact while using the investment income to enable students to study fully unhampered by financial constraints; for selected faculty to teach efficiently and conduct modest research; and for senior students to conduct thesis studies. It s a Restricted Fund of which principal amounts are held in perpetuity, while the earnings from the invested assets are expended for the purposes it was set up.  The BUDHI Board will have an investment policy which will lay out which types of investments are permitted to make. The policy will dictate how aggressive Budhi can be when seeking to meet return targets. It will have specific investment policies built into its legal structure so that the pool of money must be managed for the long term.

FOR OPERATING & MAINTENANCE COSTS

A separate OnM Fund for the purpose of operating and maintaining BUDHI will be solicited distinctly from other sources, and related fund-raising activities the Board will undertake just for OnM. In the long run, a policy may be crafted to allot a certain percentage out of the Endowment Fund Income which may be limited to a maximum of 10% of the Endowment Revenue (not 10% of the Principal Endowment Fund).
