"For me, MSU is a lifetime-project-in-progress that started in 1963. We pioneered in nurturing and developing the University to its present stature in the academic world. In a short span of 62 years, its impact on education, cultural integration, development and peace in the MINSUPALA region is phenomenal and immeasurable. Through the years and decades, every time I have the opportunity, anywhere I am, I return to MSU and serve anew. 2018 was my 9th tour of service. I will serve MSU again as long as I could.
BUDHI and our mission to raise P 100 million in five years as Endowment Fund is the latest of such endeavor for our Beloved MSU."

"MSU is the reason why I am where I am today. An institution that offers a ray of hope for a better and brighter future to those who dare accept the challenge of pursuing academic degrees on its hollowed grounds. I was one of those young and brave students who responded to the invitation and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.
My gratitude goes to the Mindanao State University for paving the way to who, what, where and why I am here today. It is a lifetime of INDEBTEDNESS that I will forever be grateful. When the idea of BUDHI was shared to me by Sir Ruffy, and the invitation to become part of this noble endeavor, and be its first President, I did not hesitate to accept believing that this is an opportune time to pay a debt of gratitude to my Alma Mater. Like a true son of a military man, and having trained and served the armed personnel of the country, I obeyed without complaint knowing that I will be surrounded with great minds sharing the same passion, dedication and love for MSU.

"Who I am, What I am, and Where I am today is because of the Mindanao State University. A poor man’s son venturing into the unknown in pursuit of a better life and a brighter future through education. Surviving the risks to both life and limb and tough challenges to earn a degree as passport to better opportunities in life and work.
To be invited to be part of a project that will pave the way in providing scholarships for deserving underprivileged youth of Mindanao to acquire high quality education, support for faculty and staff through scholarships and research grants bring back memories of my journey at MSU. Sir Ruffy’s invitation was difficult to reject because he is not even an Alumnus of MSU but wanting to make a significant difference to the University where thousands of youths of Mindanao pin their hopes and dreams of finishing a degree in one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. So, I said YES as my way of thanking and giving back to an institution that allowed me to achieve so much in my life. The task maybe daunting, but the joy and pride of becoming part of TEAM BUDHI make the journey into the sunset of my life golden and fulfilling."

"When Sir Ruffy posted the concept to voluntarily join the MSU Endowment Fund Ideas Group, I was touched and challenged. The goal of P100M within the next five (5) years is indeed a daunting task particularly that the major source of donations will be from MSU alumni who then came from the poorest of the poor of the MINSUPALA region. They were just like me when I stepped on the grounds of Marawi some sixty (60) years ago.
However when I became a CPA and rose from the ranks in the banking industry starting in the early ‘70’s, until I retired at age 63 as a Senior Vice President of one of the biggest banks in the country (Land Bank of the Philippines), and presently still functioning as a member of the Board of Directors of one of the biggest Cooperative Bank in the country (Mindanao Consolidated Cooperative Bank);I figured that my humble contribution to the proposed Endowment Fund multiplied by the number of alumni like me who I believe may wish to allot a yearly donation in the next five (5) years, the feasibility is not that daunting,
Coupled with my strong belief in the men and women who initiated the formation and incorporation of BUDHI with its noble purpose of uplifting the lives of the forthcoming generations of MSUANs, my heart and my mind say: “My contributions, whether big or small, will indeed become a homage and a fitting tribute to my Beloved Alma Mater that molded me and my being to what I have become as a forever grateful Alumna."

"Thank you, Prof. Rufino S. Ignacio for the invitation to join the Beloved University Development and Heritage Development Initiatives (BUDHI) Corporation, but most important, to Almighty Allah for His guidance in making this decision to accept.
I was hesitant at first because of the gigantic task that this group plans to do, and questioned my qualifications relative to the other members who are all topnotched MSU Alumni.
As a whole I trust them in the major endeavor they wish to embark -- to raise funds of P100 million from MSU alumni and other sources to support deserving students through scholarships, and to assist faculty members in the University who want to conduct research but are faced with financial constraints.
After a long reflection and serious consideration, I understood and realized that this endowment fund program requires trust and confidence in people who will implement it. "More than a decade ago, the idea of developing an endowment fund for our Alma Mater MSU was conceived and organized. We called the organization the “Love MSU Foundation” composed of concerned alumni to assist the University in its various activities. We even started to collect funds among ourselves to start the ball rolling on the initiative. However, for various reasons related to our respective professional pursuits, the Foundation did not take off.
This new BUDHI organization promises to regain lost ground of the “Love MSU Foundation”. I am happy to be part of this huge but doable program. We believe in the great strides the MSU has accomplished in its short history. We are products of such endeavors, and are forever thankful. We shall always be there for our Beloved University."
